Contrary to some of the comments on previous posts, I’m really not on a rant about motorcycle gangs or evangelizing that riders join any Rotary Club on wheels.
I have noticed that there is a renewed interest and a lot of media attention surrounding television shows on outlaw biker gangs. These shows follow two types of stereotypes, the bad evil biker dudes or the cuddly “Wild Hogs“. The latest is the FX cable network which ordered up 13-episodes of the drama series called “Sons of Anarchy,” which centers on an outlaw biker “club” and how the club’s efforts to protect its home in fictional Charming, Calif., from suburbanization.
The show was originally called “Forever Sam Crow”, however, the litigation happy Hells Angels caught wind of the pilot from Kurt Sutter (writer & director) who was in a Variety interview and there were references to a specific Northern CA. motorcycle “club”…shortly after the interview hit the newswire they received a cease and desist notice from the same “club”. Something about copyright infringement so, the name of the TV show and club was changed.
This is reminiscent of last years lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court of CA where the Hells Angels Motorcycle Corporation claimed the characters in the Disney movie “Wild Hogs” were identified as members of the “club”. I don’t know about you, but Dudley didn’t make me nervous sporting leather clad gear and a do-rag.
And then there’s HBO’s show under development called “1%” from “The Player” writer Michael Tolkin about a biker “club” in small-town Arizona. The outlaw biker gang phenomenon has always made for interesting debate, but with the media getting involved things have gotten dicey because some of the actual places named and used in the script were identifiably associated with Sonny Barger and the Hells Angels (such as the primary location being Carefree, AZ, which is the town adjacent to where Barger presently resides, and that the principal character moved there from Northern CA, which is what Barger did too). Barger’s production company pulled out the litigation play book and sued HBO in Los Angeles. The 60-year old wants the court to declare the “1% Script” as a joint work with Tolkin, enjoin Tolkin and HBO from selling or exhibiting the program, and award compensatory damages for exploiting Barger’s publicity rights. Fritz Clapp is Barger’s attorney to the complaint (courtesy of Reporter blog) contends that the script was developed with Barger’s collaboration, however, HBO, the White Mountain Company, and writer/producer Michael Tolkin cut him out of the project and violated his publicity rights when he demanded changes.
Whether you’re a biker “club” (as members say), a gang (as police allege), or a syndicate (as federal agents charge) one thing is clear… do-gooder philanthropists donating to toys-for-tots doesn’t sell anything. But, marauding drug dealers, corruption, crime, murder and mayhem sells advertising and that’s what this is all about. Media companies serving up another dish of nightly violent entertainment for middle-Americans about jack-booted thugs posing as celebrities who are either misunderstood or maligned to get you to buy another tube of toothpaste.
I’m thinking Fox should have a “Biker Gang Survival” channel. Let’s call it “American Loser”…the show will make millions!
Photo is courtesy of Kurt Sutter blog.
if you really knew them you would love the hells angels,or really hate them ,but not this standing in the middle, and as long as you do not fuck them up their ass, then you have nothing to worry about,or just let them be. unless your a sult like me then thats is another story.
for Barger and the Hells Angels to lay claim to the term 1%er is totally BS. The Angels came along almost 13 years after the first outlaws chapter formed in 1935.for ANYBODY to try and profit from the 1%er label is spineless and disrespectful period… got a funny feeling if the SOA stitched a 1%er diamond on those rags they sport on the show, there would be some serious issues. As for criminals all ya need to do is look on TV and ya see droves of em sittin pretty in Washington D C. wonder why were still fighting 2 wars probably because every one of em is nothing more than a war profiteer.meanwhile ya got those honest law abiding guys wearing badges being paid by youre tax dollars to serve and protect..yeah serve and protect what.? wonder why theres not a show exclusively about cops gone bad cause from what im seeing in the show they are portraying the LEOS as they truely are..burning both ends of the candle and they retire just in time.
you don’t know wtf ur talking about a..hole S.O.B. You are a brave man to post a comment here you spineless piece of shit !!
That I think is not so true. If you know anything about HA history or anything about any of the big 5 1% clubs is that they are extremely dangers. The idea that one could stick their head in the ground and they won’t bother you is insane. They are concerned about one thing MAKING MONEY thats it. Now I do believe that there are those in the clubs that are not all bad, but it is like saying that not every soldier in the Nazi’s army is not bad. One only needs to look at the organization as a whole and see what it really stands for. I personally think that they are criminals from first had experience dealing with them.
To mr. bob, the biker’s families good or bad do many think’s in the communities around the nation helping the elders and child’s what they do in they’r private life it’s not our bussines it’s not a crime till you get caught, we live free and die free, and protected by the constitution, OUTSIDERS 4 LIFE. =)
Agree with mr. Bob. The biker mindset and way of life is totally different than that of main stream America. It’s simple. Loyalty….is one word you don’t want to get in a debate with them over. It strikes the very core of who they are. Freedom…..they will not be constrained by the mainstream. Family….ties right in with the loyalty.
If they we categorized under a religion or diplomatic status the gov. would bend over backwards to “look the other way”.
Has not our government and their officials done the same as these “gangs”. Throughout history and present. The only difference is they are not on the gov. side of the fence.
If a Cop gets caught selling drugs no one says all Cops are drug deals! If a Biker gets caught selling Drugs everyone say see look that proves it they are all drug dealers !!! When Motorcycle Clubs do toy runs it is on the News and in the Paper and ever articale says that we do it for good public releations so Poeple forget we are drug dealers. If we where drugs dealers we would have stopped doing the toy runs by now because all we get is bad press about being Drug dealers !!!
In the Movie Wild Hogs! The Producers wanted to use the Hells Angels name and colors without their permission as the Name and Colors/logo is Trademarked they Could not do so!
look at the “Gang” in Wild Hoggs they where mindless punk Bullies, Motorcycle Clubs are not like that ! I’m sure there may be a few clubs who pop up like that from time to time, but the real Motorcycle clubs who are sick of the bad image those clubs give to all MC’s do not allow them to stay around! Real Motorcycle Clubs are made up of men who are not looking for a fight but are ready if one comes along!!!
I have said what you said at the end of the articale a hundred times good bikers do not sell !!! I’m hoping this show Sons of Anarchy will show Bikers as they really are!!!
Well said. Too much drama and unjustly stories about MC’s never stop. The real Truth is these clubs have been around for years. They live and die by a strict code. They DO NOT go out of their way to cause trouble. In fact, now more than ever they try harder to avoid such nonsense and go out of their way to resolve issues before the media gets word of it. They are working family people like the rest of us. THEY ARE NOT GANGS! In fact most are some of the most loyal and straight up people you will ever meet. That is the TRUTH!
Now what do you think is going to happen when people start buying jackets and shirts with “Sons of Anarchy” on the patch and with top and bottom CA rocker and riding their brand new Harley Sportster up to their local biker bar?
The show should come with a warning.
What a bunch of mindless dribble. MC’s are about the ride, the freedom and the extra protien all those swallowed bugs provide. We ride for fun, we ride together for brotherhood, we ride what we ride for pride. So with that said, does every person flying the Earnhard flag live in a trailer, and only have half their teeth? Doctors, lawyers, and even teachers ride, what does that teach our children…… diversity. Would I ride with a H.O.G. group, or an A.B.A.T.E. club, hell no, but I will wave on my way by….. I’ll even wave at those kids on their rice burners, at least their ridin. And oh yeah, the only drug I’ve ever supplied anyone was extra strength tylenol. Am I an angel, no, but I’m not the devil either.
Wave, don’t point.
Nod, don’t shake.
And for god’s sake give us a little room, we don’t have steel wrapped around us.
And by the way Bob, I think you need to pull your head outta the sand.
I don’t have cable, so I had no idea that biking gangs were becoming media darlings. It’s interesting but I don’t think I’d ever watch a show about them. Good for them though, getting media attention.
I think the debate over what a Motorcycle Club is or isn’t is very easy to answer. If you wanna know what your local MC is/are doing,… go find out! Hang around, talk (respectfully!) to actual patch-holders, (most of us don’t bite too much) and learn first-hand what it’s all about. Don’t take someone else’s word for it, don’t believe what the media sells you, go see and experience it for yourself. It’s strange to me that most people question and are suspicious of pretty much everything that either the media or the government tries to tell them. But when it comes to MC’s, they swallow it all like the gospel truth.
If you are REALLY interested, and you really wanna know the truth, take a little time and go find out. Be an intelligent, independent human being and make up your own mind. It’s not that hard.
As far as the show, Sons Of Anarchy goes, I like it so far. It’s far-fetched and WAY over the top but it’s still entertaining. I even see some things that are very realistic about the life. Then the next thing is totally ridiculous. In one episode I see the Members heading into a meeting, and they all toss their pagers, cell phones, etc. onto a table in another room before they go in and sit down. Nice touch and pretty damn close to reality.
In the next scene, I see Members riding in cages (cars, automobiles, whatever) with their Cuts (Colors, vests,… you get the idea) on. I don’t know of ANY actual Motorcycle Club that would allow such disrespect of their Colors by their Members.
So I think you have to take the show with a grain of salt. It is, after all designed to entertain, excite and entice viewers so that they will keep tuning in, buy fan merchandise and maybe even get hooked by the sponsors’ commercials and buy some of whatever they’re hawking.
One thing: I have to agree with Major,… I have seen merchandise from the show which, for all intents and purposes is what we refer to as “Members-Only” gear. Items that ONLY an actual patch-holder in a particular Club would have access to and be allowed to have or wear. This could very easily lead to problems. Hopefully it will not, but I think the merchandising team behind the show should have done their homework a lot better.

HFFH – BBAO!
To Hermano Roadrash……. WELL SAID MAN! I have only caught a little of one episode of this “Sons of Anarchy” show and I have to say that while I was ENTERTAINED….I was NOT at all thinking to myself….this is how the other MC clubs are…..Not even for a second.
I think that from a “hollywood” perspective…it’s all fine and good to make a show like this….At the end of the day in America; Sex and Violence SELLS…..like it or not…it just does.
I absolutely agree that for the NON motorcycle riding folks out there who have formed an opinion of what a motorcycle club or it’s members are all about – SHOULD actually meet some of us in person…Talk to a member of an MC and find out all on their own what a local MC in their area is about. Sure, they should do it with respect and should not approach a MC member like a drunk biligerant fool (they will likely not appreciate the response they get if they do). They should not be so quick to judge what they truly don’t know.
It’s sad that people are so easily influenced by those same people that they claim disgust them on a daily basis…..THEY being the media and the like.
Just let us who ride and who ride with an MC do so without all the BS…..and if you are unsure of an MC….pull the chicken shit stick out of your ass and just TALK to some of them… You might actually find them to be pretty decent guys who love to ride and who like the “brotherhood” their club provides and aren’t actually just evil criminals.
SOA is a great show , but is about as realistic an example of a MC, as House is a doctor and senior member of a medical team.
I have known some guys from MC’s and while most of them generally do not allow their colors to be worn in “Cages,” they are also decent hard working human beings, with families and friends, and do a lot of good things like Bikers for Christ, Bikers for MDA, Bikers for the Children’s Miracle Network, Bikers for the Cure, and the list goes on.
The unfortunate thing about ANY criminal, caught or not, is that most crimes are perpetrated AGAINST other individuals in the name of brotherhood, greed, self-perpertuating interest that quite often causes harm to others and doesn’t do a damn thing to improve the soul of the person who has perpetrated the crime. So, does crime pay? Sometimes, yes it does. People get money, drugs, blood, inflated pride, all kinds of stuff to feed their own egos or bow-down to those they esteem important…probably because many of these people are just “yes-men,” bottom line. Now, what kind of meaningful life is that? Cowardice, shame, stupidity, destructiveness? Wow, how impressive! Maybe these “real men” and “dumb women” — and whatever’s in-between should look up what T. Roosevelt says: “It’s not the critic who counts….” — type-stuff; what D. Roosevelt did — “The New Deal,” what John Kennedy said, obviously before his head was blown off, “Ask not what your motorcycle gang can do for you, but what you can do for your motorcycle gang can do for you?” Wow, dude, did he really say THAT? I always knew he was a cool dude! Yay, let’s all go out, be really cool, prove it, who cares what destruction, harm and stupidity we do…afterall, we’re NOT worth preserving anything good, especially our souls in light of eternity. Oh yeah, we don’t believe in eternity, do we? Just the here and now and how we can f— it up real good, er, I mean bad. “We’re really something, now aren’t we?”
Hmmmmmm.
You believe that crap? In fact, what you believe and do show your true colors, after all.
Hellion,
You sure got that Kennedy quote all messed up. What were you REALLY trying to say?
What does it matter? Who’s reading this right now anyway! We’re all headed to Reno for the September 2008 Street Vibrations. There we can be one fantastic, anonymous, even unanimous brother and sisterhood, all the good mixed with the evil, so much so, you probably won’t be able to tell it apart. Why did that guy die in San Francisco recently? I don’t know, I guess, it’s not my business.
Just watched this week’s episode and the series, IMHO, is finally starting to come together.
It IS entertainment. No one really thinks all the CSI shows, for example, represent the reality of what CSIs really do on a daily basis…at least I hope not. SOA is just a show, just entertainment, same as “Then Came Bronson” was so many years ago now.
I appreciate when they get some of The Life right, and chuckle when they go “Hollywood” and get it all wrong. Makes for a good hour’s worth of relaxation…right after “Dog the Bounty Hunter” where I live.
Right on for SOA – the show.
As for SOA support gear – I’d hope anyone and everyone figures out if some rider is wearing such gear they’re not worth fussing over – other than maybe snickering at. After all, the show’s got real world 1%ers as tech advisors and it’s said some outlaws are playing SOA/Mayan “outlaws” (good work and $$ if you can get it) and no doubt they’ve got some SOA support gear tucked away themselves.
Plus, it’s nice to see “Peg” from “Married with Children” has dumped the shoe salesman and hooked up with a lean’ n mean MC president 🙂
Love the show, Love the Scooters, Not really concerned about the general public getten dar arrss kicked. I’ve seen 20 somthings running around with shirts and patches of the elite branchs of the Military. These brothers in arms fought and died under these symbols. These kids don’t have a clue what those symbols mean, they just think they are cool. I don’t say nothing to em, they are comatose when it comes to history and honor. It’s not gonna be any different here, some 1% are gonna be insulted & some ain’t gonna care. Thats Life. Hint (It’s only TV)
I’ve gotta agree with Pappy. Katie Segal is the show’s true standout! She has the whole package down pat. She’s got the look, the attitude, the cunning,… everything. She kinda creeps me out sometimes, the way she reminds me of my Ol’ Lady! As far as authenticity goes, she is far and away the best on the show.
I do like Ron Perlman, and think he is doing a good job. Plus, he gets some of the best (funniest) lines.
I just hope that Opie doesn’t get himself caught by the cops and end up turning snitch just to keep his family. Remember, “Snitches are a dying breed!”
Anybody besides me think that Jemma and Clay killed Jax’s father?
Also, why haven’t I seen any “In Memory Of” patches? If his father was the Club’s founder, I would think they would have all kinds of stuff (patches, T-shirts, pictures, plaques, etc.) to pay respect to him.
They also have no T-shirts from previous runs, other Chapters, etc.. Almost no “members-only” gear.
Well, they keep getting more details as the series progresses,… I’ll keep tuning in.
Respects,
Hermano Roadrash
Good news: SAMCO has been picked up another season by FX
I know there’s much debate about this show…total snooze or totally awesome so, it looks like we get another season to test the water.

I’d just like to point out that the vast majority of people in prison are Christians, does that make all Christians criminals? of course not. Just because a lot of Catholic priests are pedophiles doesn’t mean all religious nuts rape children…. Fred Phelps doesn’t mean all Christians are bigots… does he? Just because YHWH commanded his people to kill hundreds of thousands or millions of people in the old testament, and to rape the little virgin girls while plundering all they could carry, that doesn’t make all gods psychopathic, genocidal fictitious representations of the wants and fears of a group of backwards cave people and shepherds, does it?
I noticed that in the latest episode Piney was wearing an old, faded, beat-up SOA T-shirt of some kind. I guess they are slowly getting the small shit right.
Now if they could just quit wearing their Colors in cages,…

T.V. is one thing but this whole “outlaw” biker lifestyle is such a total scam on society. These guys claim they dont care what society thinks yet they’re scrambling to change their image . Why? For the money. 90% of them are socially stunted by choice so its “easier” to join these clubs full of other “non-conformists” than to try and coexist in their environments. Pretty soon you got a bunch of these guys all conforming …..same colors, same set of rules, same vehicles. Hypocrites!! The fact that drug money is a hellof alot easier to make than earning a living does’nt hurt either. So you got a bunch of”non-conformists” running around wreaking havoc, terrorizing the country because they’re too much of a bunch of pussies, they have to take the easy way out. Then Hollywood in all it’s infinite wisdom has to cash in on it, making for a whole future generation of idiot,no-brain followers worshipping these lazy cretins. Oh well, aint that america? Ya gotta love it!
Why does “Jax” the only one to have a rocker that reads “SAMCRO” on the left side of his vest. Any significance or is it just hollywood double meaning like in the movie “The Shining” and native americans?
As far as I have noticed, all the Members of the Redwood Originals Charter have the same front rocker.

Well said Hermano. Talk to a patch (respectfully!) if you want to learn about a patch.
If you’re too busy to catch the show at night…new episodes are posted eight days after their initial TV broadcast and available on Hulu (http://www.hulu.com/sons-of-anarchy) for twenty-two days. The first two episodes will be up until the end of the year.
Well, I guess next week will be the season finale. Hope it’s a good one, not a damn cliff-hanger. Of course, since this is an FX show, it prob’ly will be.
I hope they don’t kill off Opie, I’m startin’ to kinda like him. I wish they’d get ridda Jax, he’s worthless. I’m guessin’ he’ll find out about the plot to kill Opie and decide to become a rat for the Feds. Then that’ll be the plot,… all his “moral” and “personal” conflicts of interest. Ble-e-e-e-ech! I sure hope it doesn’t go that way. That would ruin the show for me.
Wardrobe seems to be gettin’ better, I’ve seen more “old” Members-Only gear. Now if they would just quit wearin’ their Cuts in their cages! Oh well,….. that’s Hollywierd for ya!

American Loser? really? Bob let me tell you something. freedom is not free and places like California arent not free anymore. most people envy them because they are free to do what they want when they want. not because they are scary or make good shows. Its called a transient life style and you don’t have to be in a MC to experience that. If you do own a bike , which i think you don’t then ride it California and open your eyes look around you’ll see a star bucks on every corner next to a micky Ds and a wal-mart. I wish sons of Anarchy were real because this place is greedy.
Jemma is awesome. I love the way she is just down for the family, and does not care who knows about it. The scene where she is in jail and the MC Club pres sits down and says
” You are staying so am I ” made me cry. Its so real, that I want that kind of relationship some day.
( I agree with Hermano …Jemma killed Jax’s father, I bet because he turned into a snitch. )
Well, I watched the season finale and I gotta say, it should be the SHOW finale!
I realize that it’s “just a show”, but couln’t we at least have a LITTLE bit of realism?
Jax attacking a Brother, his own Sgt-At-Arms, to protect a citizen? A RAT citizen at that? He would be out bad in a hearbeat, if he lived that long! What a load of crap. Jax showed his true “colors”, and they are chickenshit green!
There is no way the shows writers can possibly come back from this with any semblance of credibility.
Opie’s Dad said “It’s time for a change”. He’s right. They need to get rid of Jax. Other than that, the only way that I can think of for the show to go on would be if Jax, Opie, and a few others left the Sons and formed their own Club. Then the conflict would be between them and the SOA. Of course, since the Sons is protrayed as being a larger Club with Chapters in at least four states, the chances of an upstart, independent Club making it would be slim to none.
Anyway, I hope everyone out there is having a great holiday season. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Respects,
Hermano Roadrash
yeah the last 40 something years the news has just been pickin on “club” guys right….blood on the streets wouldnt have anything to do with why the public looks down on you right? The concept of willingness to commit MURDER for the club alone suggests a criminal mindset….last I checked chess club members didnt shoot eachother over disputes…..So I expect im gonna hear “thats not all members”..To that I say guilty by association If you really had any moral fiber you would dissassociate yourself immediately thereafter.right?
Jax is not a snitch and for clay and them if they were a real brotherhood they would of listen to opie? Now jax and opie have a brotherhood that they would stick together no matter what and that is what brotherhoods do. And as for you Hermano Roadrash i would hate to be part of your brotherhood since all you want to do is kill your own brothers! and for the show i like it and the only puss i have seen on the show is clay and Tig Trager they are the ones who have shown there true colors right after opie saved tigs life when he was curled up in a ball. A lot of people out there today act big and tuff when there are around others but when push comes to shove they dont want no part of it people need to realize you only get out of it is what you put into it. It is a show if your all clubs were so good then they would have a show of your club to
Why does “Jax” the only one to have a rocker that reads “SAMCRO” on the left side of his vest. Any significance or is it just hollywood double meaning like in the movie “The Shining” and native americans
Everyone remember that SOA is a tv show supervised by Hollywood stiffs in corporate American suits. You get biased views on bikers with studio drama and hype. They do what they got to do to sell the show and get the ratings. So far it seems like things went well for them. I watched the entire season and enjoyed most of it. The sappy romance stuff between Jax and the doctor chick was a little lame and overdrawn but for the most part the show kept me coming back. My favorite from the whole season is where they removed a club tattoo with a blowtorch. Imagine the smell. When you watch any show, remember to leave the fantasy with the show in the closing credits and come back to reality before you get too far out the door. Be careful on the rode everyone and take care.
For those of you who judge bikers from what you see on T.V. congragulations. You re the reason for all the hate and viloence by being judgemental of what you think you know. Biker are family people, little league coaches, buiseness men and all around good people. Our families are just a little bigger and do whatever it takes to protect each other at each and all cost. Just because a biker gets caught for a crime does not mean every biker in the club is doing illegal activity. Next time take the time to get to know the person you grab your kid by the arm and pull away from because he has tattoos and does not fit you profile of what a person should look or act like. Motorcycle clubs are guys who enjoy to ride and hang out raising hell. If gathering togerther for what you believe in makes you a gang then We are all a memeber of some gang like it or not.
amen brother
It makes me laugh my ass off that the angels are self confessed outlaws, ie outside of thelaw but just love to sue, you can’t have it both ways boys…
Can’t wait for the biker action figures with the beer can grip and helpless sodomy victim in business attire bonus figure. Since all bikers are brutish thugs who want to kill, rape and destroy, we might as well have our own line of kids toys to put the finishing touch on the minds of the lame and the clueless who are pointing out bikers to their frightened children. I’ve seen a mother turn and run the other way just because of the way I look. I was just walking in the store to get a drink and some smokes. She acted like I was going to put her and her child in the sex trade or something. There you go….. Burly Biker action figure with bonus mother / daughter in bondage awaiting a boat ride to Thailand. Damn bikers.
talk about samcro or soa , what ever ya wanna call em
i watch the show , seen all the episodes to date , anyway
i’m a patch holder and i dont wear soa stuff , and i would laugh at whom ever was wearing such items , anyway i bought a new helmet just a few weeks ago and had asked a car guy at my place of emplyment if he knew any pen stripers in the area i wanted to really customize my helmet with my club colors . some dumb s#$t said hey why dont you put that logo of soa on your helmet , well i got pissed didnt show it ,and walked ago , that goes to show you that the general public dont know jack about much , its kinda like politics , someone always wants to say well so and so smoked pot or what ever , wheres the proof , and it shows the kinda respect for others the general public really dont have for anyone , biker, real m.c. or tv m.c. for that matter , military and the like , i get upset when some high school kid weres military gear(i server ) hasent served
as for “m.c. ” patches . people need to show respect , and no its not illegall to wear club colors , last i checked this was the u.s.a people get a life , dont worry about m.c. culture unless you plan to learn whats its about and comit your self to it . if not , leave it alone , but dont judge it or those who live it .
it says in the bible judge not lest yee be judged so dont judge me or my cut (m.c. for club colors , logo’s whatever )
some biker, what did you think of the scene where they removed the club tattoo off the guys back with a blowtorch? That was probably my favorite episode. They gave him a choice, torch or knife. What would you have picked? By the way I liked the SOA show but I think wearing the merchandise is pretty lame. If you dont mind me asking, what MC do you ride with and I ask with all due respect.
I have met two members of the Outlaws in MA in a bar we both frequent. Both are married, both have kids, both have jobs and they couldn’t have been nicer or more respectful on both occasions I met them. This is not a hard core biker bar either, and both of them blended right in even though they look very big and bad.
Let’s not stereo type or judge books by their covers.
I’m not 1% er, but sport plenty of ink, bandanas and facial hair and ride a Harley and am often ammused by the looks I get from the more conservative public.
I moved into a small apartment building with mostly older tenants and was amazed how long it took people to even say hi to me. I’m college educated, intelligent, employed and wouldn’t hurt a fly.
well they look crazy and scarey GRIMM REAPERS / GUNS
i love the paint job its killer !!!!
I hope the merchandising people don’t get carried away and start selling vests with patch sets, or just patch sets. It just isn’t a good idea.
guess I’m too late. already being sold on ebay.
How cold any self respecting biker buy a Sons of Anarchy vest and think its cool. Thats just fricken lame man. I love the show but I wouldnt wear it.
I like the show and I bought a soa sweatshirt and hat . I’m not in a club don’t even claim to be in one, but if someone wearing a hat and a sweatshirt from a tv show about a ficticous mc get over yourself it’s not like someone wearing hells angels colors and not being in the mc then I could see having a hissy fit about so mr some biker shut up and go suck on your tail pipe with the engine running
This is why people get hurt. When you infringe on one’s lifestyle and the rules we abide by you are considered disrespectful. This is a way of life for some of us and we take it very serious. Would you wear a blood outfit and goto a crip neighborhood in LA and tell them you wearing it because of a movie? No you wouldn’t so why wear something in the biker world that offends us just because you refuse to respect and honor our lifestyle.
I have a question? What do you all know about the military? Do you like it do you like your vets?
how can you like them but not a mc it is ran the same way and most chapters are maid up on mostly ex military personal and both fight for the same thing shed blood pain and everything else just like each other they both fight for territory and family just cause you don’t share the same blood does not mean that they cant be your brother and I will agree with a few others on here you should get to know someone before you go and try to judge them I roll with a mc at night and military during the day if you seen me during the day you shake my hand I run into that same person a couple days later at night with my cut on and they wont even look at me I try to say hi and they turn and walk away shit like that makes me laugh
ssg b, I know military cause I served in the USMC. I respect those who serve and vets. The fact that someone shook your hand in uniform then shunned you in your colors is typical non riding bullshit. They want to wave flags and cheer heros yet boo and jeer the MC. What happens when the hero is also a patch wearer? They can’t handle it. It doesn’t fit their profile. Funny how you can fight and die for them and be called a hero yet you fight for a patch and they call you scum. Mr. Average American is not a rider and not really what we know in our circle of life. They are the type who call the police at 11:01 if the music is too loud instead of asking you to turn it down first. They call a lawyer when offended instead of handling their business like real men. The thought of a physical confrontation makes them vomit. They are telephone tough guys who wet themselves in a face to face argument. If the world collapsed today and with it the government and police departments, people like these would be on our menu.
Wait a damn minute…however late I am, don’t you DARE freaking try to compare yourself as a wannabe thug to a veteran of a foreign war. You would supposedly be wiling to die for a ‘patch’, but only for KNOWN people to you, or people you’d eventually meet.
The soldier, the airmen, the marines, the seamen, the guard…they die for people they DON’T like, they DON’T know, and they WON’T EVER MEET. IOW, jacktard…they aren’t gonna get any ‘respect’ from any of those people and these brave men and women are STILL willing to risk death. They don’t do it for a fucking PATCH! What are you, a fucking boy scout?
Veterans DON’T NEED YOUR DAMN RESPECT…we’d do it anyway. We didn’t enlist by consulting you first. We take a much higher oath and to far greater ideals than possibly being able to bang some stripper after we’ve sold the house some drugs.
Only a wannabe jackass with no personal self-awareness or self-honesty whatsoever would actually try to make the argument that joining a biker gang IS THE SAME AS leaving your body parts in some foreign country for a bunch of douchebag little boys who had a ‘failure to launch’ problem by the age of 17.
Now, how about you grow up son and learn what any GOOD soldier does?

Toys for Tots is MC propaganda driven bull. The purpose of such runs is to manipulate the public into ignoring the other 364 and 1/4 days of crime filled activities enjoyed and sponsored by your local 1%ers.
I was one of their gang rape victims at 15. So, what does that make them. That’s right boys…pedophiles. Toys for Tots….ummmm….ironic isn’t it.
Amelia
you need to learn not to judge everyone by what you have experienced. Would you call all truckers rapists if it had been a trucker who “raped” you? Well, not everyone is the same and if you would bother to get to know some bikers or members in an MC you would find that out. I have dated a few bikers, wore the colors and have never been raped in any way be it by one person or a gang, and yes I was 16 when I first dated a member so do not say that I wasn’t young and it would not have happened to me because of that. Stop judging and discriminating against someone because of their interests. Discrimination sucks and causes hate.
Well I am a woman truckdriver so I do not get to watch the show much. Actually I think I have only seen 2 episodes. I think it is entertaining but would never go so far as to think it is real life. I have known some MC members and even had the privilege to wear the colors for a little while when I was about 16 as the GF of a member. I have nothing but respect for clubs or their members. Saying all clubs are drug dealers, rapists, criminals, etc. is like saying all truckers drive illegal, cheat their logs, and don’t give a damn about anyone on the road but ourselves. It is nothing but lies and beliefs from people who know nothing about the business or clubs and think they are better than us. As for what Amelia said Toys for Tots is not just a fundraiser done by MC’s but by the National Guard also. What is their excuse or reasoning for doing it? Just because you say you were “raped” at 15 by an MC does not mean all of them are like that. If it had been a truckdriver who raped you would you then say all truckers are rapists? I can honestly tell you I would not rape or have sex of any kind with you because I like men and I am a trucker, so before you start accusing all MC members of being rapists you better think first then speak or rather write. And to all you club members out there, I respect you guys and anyone else brave enough to get on the roads these days on their bikes. Whenever I am in a position to pass a bike in my big truck, I always make sure I know where the rider is before I get back over and I also put at least one or two truck lengths between us just so my back draft doesn’t cause them to swerve or wreck. I just can’t find it in my heart to respect people who do not respect those bigger or smaller than they are, like those cars or cages as you call them, 4 wheelers to the truckers, who pull in front of you and leave maybe an inch of space between you and them.
All my respect
RebelRouser
Hey Rebelrouser…..thanks for the consideration of us riders/bikers. I have a hell of a lotta respect for truckers/trucks……i RESPECT THEIR SIZE AND SKILL……when my husband and I ride….i try to be conscientious of the fact that truckers may not always see where we are and we keep a respectable distance….so as not to catch any of you by surprise…so thanks for your consideration. It meants a lot….
P.S. We ride in Cali….keep a lookout for a bitchin’ yellow, tricked out scooter w/two riders and BIG SMILES……….
See ya on the road sometime……
Some interesting comments here but most are missing the point.
The show is for entertainment and to sell advertising. Period. Don’t put more on it than what it is.
Also, some here tell us that not all bikers or truckers, cab drivers, meter readers, doctors, lawyers, painters, pilots, carpenters, etc, etc, are guilty because of the actions of a few.
You are missing the point.
There are those in the 1%er world for example that are not all bad, but that’s like saying not every soldier in the Waffen SS was bad. I’m sure there were some great guys in the SS. Maybe they were just a bit misguided….
You need to look at the organization AS A WHOLE and see what it really stands for.
Bottom line here is that when you choose to align yourself with those who live on one side of the law or the other, you are accepting the baggage that goes with it.
Iam a rider with B.A.C.A (bikers against child abuse) in California, and I like the SOA show. What I like is the fact that it shows us bikers in all of our behaviours good (Jax), and bad (Clay). The show may be made in Hollywood by suits, but we in the motorcycle community need the exposure, and it’s about time. When Iam not riding my bike to some poor abused child’s home to protect her from mom’s new boyfriend, Iam with the club and learning varius ways to help children in desparate situations. So, ease up on the riding clubs. WE just want to have fun too.
Buzzkill ride on man. I didnt know a club like yours was around. keep it going protect the kids!

Ok where to begin. When you like an athelete you wear their jersey right? When you like a superman you wear a shirt with the Superman S logo on the front, I’m not gonna keep giving examples(though I can) NOBODY has the right to say fans should not wear SONS OF ANARCHY cut’s because it’s disrespectful to real MC’s.hello wake up people it’s a made up club. now if fifteen people were riding around together with SOA cut’s on calling themselves an mc then I could see people getting a little pissed just on principle. But unless your walking around with a REAL mc’s cut on and aren’t a member you shouldn’t have to worry about what will say or do to you. And for all you SAMCR0 hater’s out there. The writer has just released a real F-U five more seasons. Long live SONS OF ANARCHY
Reaper….thanks for the reality check….ppl need to stop taking themselves soooooooo seriously.
My husband and I ride…..I like his SAMCRO shirts…..ITS JUST A FREAKIN TV SHOW….sheeeshhhh!!!!!
See ya on the road sometime…..
Well, haven’t posted here in a long ass time. Howdy Mac, hope all is well.
Look, when this show started, I had to raise an eyebrow an wonder.
Here we are at the end of season two, and, gotta admit, I’m a follower, it is entertaining as hell once a week. Would I wear SOA gear? Hell no. Please, You don’t hang out in biker circles and just scream wannabe poser puke and expect to get anything but laughed at ok.
There are a lot of Johnny come lately bikers out there. Middle aged guys with empty nest syndrome that go out an buy everything that says Harley on it, show up at the poker runs and biker bars, put 1500 miles a year on their bikes an call themselves bikers. Hell even in a year I had two shoulder surgeries I put on more than 5000 miles on my bike and it is more typically closer to 12 or 15 thousand unless it is a year I have ridden out to Texas from Cali or Oregon to see my Bro’s out there. ( and yea, they are true bro’s, men I have spent time with, road with, shared pain an good an bad times with, they ain’t a bro cause they have a bike too)
Cracks me up that people would put on a vest, even from a pretend club an think it is ok. Sure, it’s America, do as you wish, if you get your ass handed to you, well, i guess if your gonna walk the walk an talk the talk an be stupid about it ya might wanna back it up too.
Buy it, hang it on the wall at home in your biker shrine and enjoy it. But when people fuck with you for wearing it out to biker events, don’t be surprised.
Oh, and if a real PH takes offense and tells you to take it off…It ain’t a big deal, take it off, stuff it in your saddle bag and enjoy the rest of your day.
You wouldn’t wear a cops uniform if you were not a cop, you wouldn’t wear a military uniform with medals you didn’t earn.
Why does our world deserve any less respect. Said it a million times, if you didn’t earn it, it don’t go on your back.
Ride safe, have a kick ass knees in the breeze new years.
WJ
I don”t care if people were the hats, shirts, and have pillows etc. but I don”t think the cuts do anything but show disrespect. I have lived the club life for 15 yrs.and this is one mans thoughts. as for the show I”m a fan it”s a t.v. show for christ sakes superman isn”t real but still intertaining get over it.reno1%er
Wait just a minute here! Superman not real?
There were comic books, TV shows, several movies and everything… The dude was one hell of a crime fighter. He had some bad incidents where it didn’t look like he was going to make it – but he always persevered in the end.
I thought he finally retired and went back to his Fortress of Solitude to write his memoirs.
Not real? What a total bummer…..
Windy Joe,
Re: Why does our world deserve any less respect. Said it a million times, if you didn’t earn it, it don’t go on your back.
********************************************
It seems that miles traveled is the mark of a true biker according to what you wrote. Would you also care to elaborate (for those less informed) about;
(a) your world as it relates to respect and
(b) what it actually takes to earn what’s on your back and become a real PH
Thanks.
Retired LE,
If I had to explain it, you wouldn’t understand.
WJ
“If I have to explain it”…. is a well used line.
Saves having to explain ones’ stand on an issue, specially if one is not even sure himself.
As the warden said, “What we have here is failure to communicate!”
Earlier in this discussion (and other similar chats) PH’s have very reasonably said, “Ask if you are curious, but don’t be rude (judgmental) about it.”
Here we have a guy (Retired LE) asking. However, he leaves pretty big lines to read between. In other words, I can see WJ’s hesitation to get drawn into that topic. It seems LE will just sharpshoot anything WJ says.
I don’t mean to paint LE as a villian. He makes some valid points. Namely the one about knowing exactly with whom you ally yourself and accepting the luggage (sometimes unearned) that comes with that affiliation.
I myself am fascinated by the MC world. I ride a Softail but know that between other commitments (family, 20 years so far in the Army, etc…) that it isn’t in me to belong to an MC. “Know thyself,” right?
Just my two cents (ok, 12 cents) worth.
Ed
I think I’m gonna buy a SAMCRO vest, get on the bike and ride to Hollister to get drunk and have my picture taken.
On your bicycle?
this pisses me off i love (SOA) but itslike this i went to a easy rider show in charlott nc and i had a good time looked at ta wemon drank a few beers i dont belong to a bike club and never will for ta semple fact colors suck if ya have to hide behind colors you ant shit dont get me rong some peps are cool but theres one club that messes it up fore ta good guys ( the outlaws) here i am haveing a good time and im aproched by a outlaw im wearing a soa hoody big dill its a fucking tv show i was told im not gona ware it in ta center im like what ta hell its a tv show well he was pissed off and he was ready to make a big dill about it so i went on i left it on and got my buddy and left any way (outlaws get ta fuck over it soa is fickinel and yall need to get a life)…by ta way i ride a honda lmfao
I believe this is what Shaky said:

This pisses me off. I love (SOA) but it’s like this. I went to a Easy Rider show in Charlotte, NC and I had a good time. Looked at the women, drank a few beers.
I don’t belong to a bike club and never will for the simple fact colors suck. If you have to hide behind colors you ain’t shit. Don’t get me wrong, some people are cool but there’s one club that messes it up for the good guys (the outlaws).
Here I am having a good time and I’m approached by a outlaw. I’m wearing a SOA hoody (sweatshirt). Big deal, its a fucking TV show. I was told I’m not gonna wear it in the center. I’m like, what the hell, it’s a TV show. Well he was pissed off and he was ready to make a big deal about it so I went and I left it on and got my buddy and left anyway.
Outlaws get the fuck over it. SOA is fictional and y’all need to get a life…by the way, I ride a Honda. LMFAO
To WJ,
I don’t believe the FIRST few members of any of the OMG’s “earned”/prospected for their own club. They decided to start their club and did so. As new members came in, the new members prospected.
I don’t need to go into the probie stage as most already know what it involves. But I would like to ask one question.
WHO is the one to decide who has earned or not earned their club patch?
Sadly…this one simple question has never been answered. (if i have to explain…yadda yadda is a total cop out which translates to – you aint got a clue)
You seem to be of the opinion that all LE clubs run out to their local store, buy a patch & sew it on and ba da bing….ba da boom – instant member of said club. Sounds good for your argument but is as far away from the truth as the Sons of Anarchy show. It seems in all your years of hanging with outlaws, just bikers and what have you, you have not bothered to educate yourself about a specific group of bikers. Maybe you should try opening your eyes and ears and learning more about them before throwing out tired old clichés.
I am an Infantryman in the U.S Army, I am 32 years old and was raised around 1%ers aka OMG’s. I have seen alot in my time- good and bad, but let’s not go blaiming OMG’s for all the bad stuff that happens in your area just because there are OMG occupants. Let’s be honest here and put blaim where blaim is due. Every organazation has it’s outlaw’s and share of carrupt leadership. And who’s to say if I start an orginization that I can’t govern it? This guy “EVIL” who posted…….
“BUCKSHOT” Ok well let me ask you this EVIL?, If you started your own buisiness, wouldn’t you be carefull who you hired, and make sure first and foremost that they where trust-worthy and deserved to be a part of your company? It’s the same exact thing with MC’s. Obviously your not getting the big picture yourself. Sometimes people join MC’s because they never had a real family and need that brotherhood. But you probably have a big loving family already huh? You possibly don’t understand poverty, or have never been homeless? Am I right? Well let me know if I hit that on the head or not k?
“BUCKSHOT”
BY THE WAY I AM IN IRAQ AND HAVE BEEN FOR ALMOST A YEAR! I LOVE AMERICA AND SO SHOULD YA’LL!
First…thank you for your service.
““BUCKSHOT” Ok well let me ask you this EVIL?, If you started your own buisiness, wouldn’t you be carefull who you hired, and make sure first and foremost that they where trust-worthy and deserved to be a part of your company?”
No…..now you are making them sound like the Mafia. Pay protection/homage and open your biz. That is not what you are fighting for is it?
I don’t like how their company operates. So I have joined another company and started my business.
It would be up to ME to decide who was in my family and who doesn’t fit. It would be ME to decide who understood the ways of life in my business and other businesses that might be around. It would be up to ME to decide who had “earned” their membership in MY business. All these things that we hold near and dear to our hearts? It would be up to ME! Certainly not a guy who is not an associate in any business.
It would NOT be up to WJ to tell me neither my brother’s nor myself had not EARNED a damned thing. Nor would it be up to any other club. I get that the OMG’s have a need to CONTROL everything they can – but they can never control Law Enforcement – just as Law Enforcement can never control them. (and that is probably their big issue with cop clubs)
LEO’s most often are looking for the same things you mentioned. A family, a brotherhood outside of work and people they can hang with who they trust with their lives.
Since you seem interested – I do not have a “big-loving” family – VERY small. I know being without and living from check to check…not necessarily poverty and not homeless either…..so you got part of the nail along with part of your thumb.
Having said that, none of the above is a requirement for entry into a 1%er world. Most 1%’s HAVE families (although they come last in their lives) jobs, great jobs and homes.
Come home safe
I just found this whilst searching the web for some new patches. Patches of my own. Yes I ride, yes I have friends that are in MC’s no I’m not a member of any of them. I am how ever a PGR.(Patriot Guard Rider) and have served for 10 years in two branches. I have friends in more than one club. I have watched the S.O.A. it is a cool show.
I do understand and see a lot of points here. As far as wearing S.O.A. T-shirt I might it’s like wearing a band T-shirt. Hell I have a B.L.S. (Black Label Society) vest. Yes I wear it from time to time even around my friends. Who all know it’s a kick ass band. If I’m not wearing that I maybe wearing my PGR vest and or jacket. Or just my ol HARLEY vest and jacktet. Most of the formentioned club members are also VETS and the are VET CLUBS.
I do agree with some of you who said if your aproched by a MC member and asked to remove it, it’s no big deal. It’s not like there YOUR COLORS! They belong to the T.V. SHOW! I’ve seen Zach Wild put out more than once that BLS isn’t a MC and explained the patches and terminalogy. More than likely SOME ONE was being a DUMB ASS! Granted it’s very similar to clubs ideas and all, but in no way is it a club.
I’ve even heard of people wearing Patriot Guard Patches getting in to trouble. Thinking that they are in a club. NO YOUR NOT! PGR is a PATRIOTIC GROUP who puts them selves between protesters at militry funerals and the family! Among other things. My point here is if your to stupid to know WHO YOU ARE, WHO YOUR AROUND then don’t wear any thing at all. It’ll save you a lot of pain and every one else a bad rap.
Enjoy the show.
LIVE FREE and RIDE FREE!
Sorry almost forgot. One other thing I wanted to address.
About what it takes to be a BIKER. It’s not what you ride or how far you’ve ridden or if your wearing, HARLEY, INDIAN, TRYUMPH, or what ever stuff……….
It’s what’s in side you. It’s that pull in your chest you feel, when you come up to a cross road to and you just wana point your front tire in a direction and JUST SEE WHERE IT LEADS. Even it leads to absolutly no where. Being a BIKER isn’t some thing you just wake up one day and deside to be. It’s something your born with. Kinda like a seed that grows with every bike you hear, every stretch of road you look down. Till one day you find your self sittin on the bike that chose you and it just feels right.
THAT’S WHAT MAKES A BIKER, A BIKER.
I want to first give respect where respect is due and thats to the VAGOS MOTORCYCLE CLUB because they have showed me and my family and friends nothing but respect ,and to all you self righteous law abiding citizens that want to believe everything you hear and see on TV I can only say LINE UP AND YOU TO WILL BE LEAD INTO SLAUGHTER. I have had many dealings with motorcycle clubs ,and supporters and will say that theres not a better group of people when it comes down to trust respect and loyalty, which is something I can’t say for alot of other groups(ie:POLICE,JUDGES,LAWYERS,POLITICIANS, ECT) And I will also say that there are good and bad on both sides but to always pick out and condemn the vagos for things is just way wrong. If the people who cast stones while living in glass houses would take time to see the club for all the good they do and reconize then maybe this world would turn around and be headed back to a place it once was and thats THE LAND OF THE FREE.have you ever took the time to attend a motorcycle event ?Have you ever took a look at what the proceeds from such events were being donated to like toys for tots these events are held yearly in many states and many towns and support children who are less fortunate ,other events are held and proceeds go to very worthy causes such as HEADSTART SCHOOLS WHICH ARE PRESCHOOLS ,WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SEEN A POLITICIAN RAISE MONEY OR TAKE TIME TO ATTEND SUCH AN EVENT FOR THE GOOD OF OTHERS?
So with that said I will leave you with this and really dont give a damn what you think about my words or my friends.
because in the end you wouldnt stand by me and this I know to be true they would meaning the VAGOS MOTORCYCLE CLUB….. they are and always have been very respectful to me my children and my family, they are kind gentlemen and love their families and friends and arent afraid to show it and surely wont be standing in line with the rest of you followers when the goverment gets done brain washing you and leads you and the rest of the weak to slaughter….. Then who will you call on? AND TO MY BROTHERS , AND THERE FAMILIES, STAY STRONG KEEP BELIEVING IN WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN AND FUCK THE BS THEY ARE PUTTING OUT THERE CUZ ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE AND WE KNOW THAT, THAT DONT KILL US ONLY MAKES US STRONGER!!!!! obvously americans dont believe in freedom
live and let live
we have hells angels and other mc’s if you don’t get into their lives they don’t mess with yours
if they use the system of litigation its only because big brother implimented it so why not use it
if they use violence they get verbal abuse and arrested
most are ok and the SOA show is exactly that a tv show
people who criticize GET A LIFE
I PERSONALLY LOVE THE SHOW BUT WOULDN’T WEAR THE SOA PATCH FOR FEAR OF GETTING LAUGHED AT BY MY BUDS. WE WEAR OUR COLORS ON OUR SKIN AND I PROMISE YOU, NO ONE WILL TRY TO TAKE THEM OFF OF US.
Your statement Steve is a bit simplistic. It’s a bit more complicated than that….
[Steve says: we have hells angels and other mc’s if you don’t get into their lives they don’t mess with yours]
Their lives (as you say) often center around drug dealing, prostitution, extortion, theft, and various acts of mayhem including bombings, assaults & murder.
We as a society HAVE to get into their lives when it involves the above activities. To stand back and allow them (and other criminal types) to do as they wish invites anarchy.
hey guys
I am a single dad of two great kids. I LOVE the sons of anarchy. I even wear my SOA sweatshirt. I grew up in a bachelor home and my best friends uncle were in the Avengers. I spent much time in garages and homes of members and their families. i never had a better time. There were a few “bad guys” but not everyone was like that. I pursued other choices for my life as I grew up. My life wasn’t and isn’t degraded by the experiences and influences that were around me in those days. As a matter of fact, it is richer, i believe.
I am daily surrounded by fellow riders, as are my children. Only one of those riders is in an MC. Hes an Iraq/Afghanistan veteran and a fireman and belongs to one of the vet clubs and rode to a few of the funerals a few years ago. He also rides with the firemen.
The rest of us ride a variety any chance we get. I bought a 1984 Kawasaki LTD a few years ago before my divorce. I got it for cheap and decided to make it a project. With the help of a few friends and the advice of a local MC member, we have only to paint it. Someday I will buy a Softtail custom but at least for now I have the priviledge and pride in the fact that I finished my project bike and got two wheels on the road.
I have HUGE respect for our vets. Thank you for serving.
I also have HUGE respect for our local MC members. They have been nothing but friendly, respectful, helpful and I have returned that to them. I have taught this behavior to my kids and they to their friends when they are with us.
Holy-Crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Will this BS ever stop?Ride if you want,do what you please. That is what it’s all about. You can’t say I’m a free-spirit but hey…..you can’t be free.As far as Sons of Stupidity swag,As long as it ain’t in California it’s a first amendment right thing.Wear that SOA shit west coast 1st amndt. or not, your asking for trouble. As far as OMGs go,If it’s a criminal organization, and you belong to it,criminal or not, you’re painted with the same brush. If you are a MC that does not support itself or its members with criminal activity, then it’s none of your business what the criminal OMGs are doing or what people think about them. They can handle their own shit. They don’t need wanna-be outlaw cheerleaders.
Look this is simple common sense Live To Ride Means a bike is your wife and you life is free.
Being Criminal isnt being a biker or being a biker isnt criminal.
Those who choose to be outlaw and those who are outlaws are not all reapers and there’s more criminal gangsters than criminal bikers.
I live to Ride And Ride To Live but i dont break the law to do so and those who do will be judged for it By God Not By you
I get a kick outta these no nothing writers who form opinions.
Those who can ride, those who can’t write.
I see only one American loser here
The SOA series actully came about in the UK after kurt sutter met with the sons of hell mc in a bar in manchester, England.UK. I know this as my sister had to do the research and fly over to meet them. she has pictures with a guy named Fly who i think is there leader and a big guy with tattoos on his face who is really scary she said.
I’m just gonna point this out real quick. The show “Sons of Anarchy” is based on the Shakespearean play Hamlet.
I’ve read many of the comments here, going back through the years the show has been airing. Wow, get a grip people. It’s a freakin’ TV show! If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. And if you do like it, remember that in spite of its roots, origins and bits of basis in reality, it’s JUST a TV show–fiction–entertainment–provided by an industry whose main concern is their bottom line–money, and to get all worked up about it is just allowing them to yank your chain.
If you are a member of a group, a motorcycle club or even an outlaw motorcycle club and don’t like what people think of you, then grow up and realize that just about any group on this planet may be liked or disliked. Any group, race, religion, club member, you name it, has good AND bad folks in it. Or, more accurately, all combinations of good and bad, because we are talking human beings here, and humans are complex, and none of us are all of one thing. It’s not a black and white world…it’s all shades of gray.
Think about this: As a member of an MC club, you chose the life–YOUR choice. If you are a member of a race or culture, it’s by birth–not a choice. So now you know how it feels to be judged and misjudged, how it feels to have judgments made about you based on certain characteristics of a group rather than you as an individual, however wrong those judgments might be. There’s a word for that, folks, it’s called prejudice. It sucks, right?
All the rhetoric about the cuts, members-only clothing, patches, etc, is just a bunch of crap. People, it’s clothing, and to fight over who can and cannot wear it and what action to take when it seems inappropriate is so freakin’ childish. With all the deadly serious things going on in the world, it’s so unimportant…so infantile. Ultimately, it comes down to pride and ego. When those emotions are over-inflated, destruction ensues.
So, where do I stand with all this? I watch the show and I like it. I like the stories and the characters they have invented, I like the writing and I like the acting, but it’s just a show. I’ve known bikers in my life, some outlaw, some not. Some of them I like and some I don’t. Some of them are assholes and some are the salt of the earth. And most of them can be both at any given moment, just like the rest of us. I’ve known members of all kinds of groups and races and religions and, well, you get it. Some I like and some I don’t.
I’m a Marine no longer on active duty. My choice. And, guess what, some Marines I like and some not. Many judgments have been made about Marines, too, throughout history and Hollywood has sometimes portrayed us accurately and in a good light, and sometimes not. Some like us and some don’t. And as a member of that group, I’ve been both judged and misjudged. I’m an individual…a human being. Some folks think they know what I’m all about just because I used to wear the uniform. Generally, they are wrong about much of who they think I am, based on my membership in that branch of the military. Oh, well. I’m also an adult and try to react like one, rather than as a child.
I also carry the bloodlines of many races and cultures that some like and some don’t. Everyone is a member of one race or another, and the sooner humans figure out how to lay aside prejudices and get along with the other races…the rest of the people on the planet…to live and let live, the better the world will be, but it seems to me we just aren’t figuring it out. Hell, just look at all the folks here who want to fight over a freakin’ TV show and clothes and what kind of vehicle we choose to drive! All of us suffer because of that mindset, in one way or another. You can perpetuate the mindset and the madness, or you can choose to grow up and step up to the plate and become part of the solution. Your choice.
Whats a cluddy.
I have been in a biker club for 23 yrs and i those years i have had some good brothers and some bad one,s i have had cops stop me and fuck with me for no reason but they give me some shit like if you wasn’t wearing those colors we would bother you.I love my club and i wouldnt leave them for notthing in the world i have alot of respect for all clubs from the 1%er to the 99%er i choose to be a 1%er and i no the all club are differnt but we all enjoy to ride drink and get money and women
For all the supposed military members, active or no, I’m going to tell you right now that no one with any kind of specops career is going to be caught dead in a MC. Why? Because the cream rises to the top, boys and girls. And shows like SOA are appealing to the LCD in viewership. The disaffected, alienated, disgruntled, Mommy-didn’t-hug-me-enough bunch of ‘men’. That’s fine. You trade one dysfunctional group for another, but don’t kid yourselves about doing anything other than that.
The refuse and ‘heavy metals’ also sink. There, you will find plauge and sickness. Pariahs who feed on each other. Not to mention a whole heap of denial.
Has it ever cross any of your minds why you see so few female biker gangs? Maybe because women use more common sense and actually think LESS with their emotions than some of you, um, ‘men’ do?
The people who stand on the wall do so that folks like you can get on your big, noisy machines and draw plastic boobies everywhere and slap each other on the back. The people who stand on the wall, fortunately, don’t have the time nor the inclincation to actually pay attention to your petty infighting and one-upmanship and cartoonish swaggering.
I see lots of kids, and they are, despite their age, KIDS mentally, who exchanged being wannabe little rap jitterbug hoodrats for suddenly, now that they’re testicles finally dropped, being wannabe ‘brothers’ on the loud, shiny vroom-vrooms. Sometimes they even make motorcycle noises with their mouths when the bike’s not around, so everyone will know they are REAL MEN MANNNNNNN roflmao!!!!!!!!
Sure, SOA’s just a show but the LCD are also the most impressionable and it’s why a majority of the armed forces are NOT special operations. And it’s also why certain federal agencies don’t recruit out of anything but the top universities. The lesson here is, if you can add two and two by this point, that if you want to be the cream, kids, best you head for the top and let the shit sink to the bottom without your company. You wanna worship something tough, something will real balls that is a true “one percenter” in every way, shape, and form? Try climbing up on a cross for the very people about to hammer a nail through the top of your feet.
Then you can talk about what a badass you are, Billy. Till then, so long as loudmouths and braggarts who can’t control their tempers and need to wave guns around to compensate for their dick size, not to mention disrespect women at every turn ( and you KNOW who you are ), and lack of ability between the sheets, you’re just KIDS who refuse to grow up.
