Summer is slipping away.  I can feel it in the air even though we’ve had an incredible run of some great weather here in the Northwest.

The end of summer is always a bit of a sad time for me since it means we’re approaching the end of another riding season and those spontaneous rides after work in a t-shirt without thinking about the end of the day temperatures or if rain gear is in the saddle bags are nearly over.

The calendar tells me that the seasons change in mid-September, but we all know that the unofficial end to summer is Labor Day. So before the routines of autumn set in it’s time to enjoy one last ride to say farewell to the lazy days of summer.

For me I plan to savor the last of summer by heading to Reno’s Street Vibrations.  It’s a traditional “end-of-summer” ride for many in the Northwest and it’s a ride I’ve done a number of times in the past.  Last year’s trip is documented HERE.  The “street V” rally is one that never seems to disappoint.  The major events planned at Harley Dealerships in Carson City and Reno along with the ride into historic Virginia City is always a good time.  I’m planning to do a ride around Tahoe and may even get some “Lady Luck” time in the poker hall or craps table.

This is the 14th year for this event.  See you there at the celebration of music, metal and motorcycles…
